JUST A QUICK LINE TO LET YOU GUYS KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ON THE SOME TRAILBOSSES. MY MOM HAS A 2000 TRAIL BOSS, AND MY SHOP CALLED ME THE OTHER DAY AND ASKED ME TO BRING IT BY TO CHANGE AN OIL LINE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED BECAUSE OF FAILURE. WE RECIEVED NO MAIL NOTIFICATION AND I AM FRIENDS WITH THE GUYS AT THE SHOP, SO CALL YOUR SHOP AND CHECK JUST TO BE SURE.

I posted about the oil lines last June. My buddy bought a new TrailBoss for his son. The oil line blew off after one hour, and toasted the motor. He took it back to the dealer, they claimed that they fixed it. An hour later, another toasted engine. He is on his third motor, and it seems to be holding up.

The actual service bulletin came out last fall to have the oil lines replaced. The dealers were supposed to contact the owners that they sold them to arrange to have them brought in. I called my dealer and got it fixed in December. I just received a postcard about a week ago from Polaris explaining the service bulletin and what to do to get it fixed. The upgraded design is much better than the original design.

I received my post card about two weeks ago and I've had my 2000 TBoss since this February. My lines had not been replaced because it wasn't on the original recall list?

My service guy told me that there were a few issues causing the confusion on the recall. One major issue was who was resposible for contacting customers. Another was which oil lines were being recalled, the list of models is kinda vague. Some 2000-2001 TBosses, some Explorers. At first they thought it was any model mfgd before a specific date, but that's not necessarily the case.

He also mentioned something about different parts being needed. Another customer dropped off a 2000 TBoss the same day I did, he was in and out in no time. I on the other hand, had to wait for parts for mine. Apparently, my Boss needs a different size line.

My dealer has gotten so fed up with with the mixup, they're replacing any model on the "Some" list. If you don't have the steel lines and don't mind waiting, they replace them free of charge no questions asked.

Mine has been in since last Monday. I'm starting to get a little pissed.
