I was out for a short ride with my 98 Xplorer when i noticed that my front wheels were not engaging. When i put it in low the front wheels engaged right away. Also i noticed that there was a clunking in the front end. And lastly there was one time when the front right wheel was engaged for no reason and that only lasted about 40 feet. Any help would be great.

 

Make sure your battery is good. Also try changing your hub oil.
