I have 99 500 magnun with 100 hrs. on it.
I was greasing it when I noticed a small amount of antifreeze laying on the skid plate. At first I could not figure out where it was comming from. It turns out ther was a very small bit of coolant comming from the
weep hole under the water pump.It would not leak at idle even when brought to full temp
but would leak a drop or two after a hard short ride in woods at my house.
I called my dealer and after they contacted polaris they agreed to fix it no charge even though it was a couple of months out of warranty. They also told to go ahead and take it on a trip I had been planning for the next
day but to take it easy.
I rode it 150 miles in some of the meanest muddiest steepest stuff around (LIvingston,KY.) and the leak stopped completly, I mean not one drop. I had even placed a mark on the coolant recovery bottle when it was cold to help gauge any loss. There was none! Has anyone elese had a similar problem and would you still let the dealer try and fix a problem that no longer exists?
thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I had exactly the same problem with my 99 500CC Sportsman. The Dealership had it in twice for the same problem.I finally got fed up and found the problem myself. It was the same as you,the little weep hole on the bottom side of the pump.Get it fixed, even though it's not leaking now,it will.Best of Luck----BILL
