I ride with lots of different 4wheelers and all of the other brands seem to have better mud protection. What I mean is the SP does not do a good job of keeping mud off the rider. I wish the fenders did a better job of keeping the mud off. Has anybody added mud flaps?

Yup,

I added mudflaps under the running boards behind each front wheel. Keeps the crap from flying up onto the leading edge of the rear fenders. I just used chunks of stiff black rubber about 6 or 8 x 12.

That said, mud is the nature of the beast!

I used some rubber belting but the lawn edging sounds like a better idea. The belting is a little heavy which makes the rear fenders sag a bit.Sure does keep the mud off though!!I think I may re do it with something lighter.

If money is no problem buy the Polaris fender flairs. They look awsome and cost about $260 CAD for both sets.

On my xpedition 425, after I bought 26 inch then later 27 inch mudbugs. I was getting mud tossed all over me. I simply bought polaris's extended mud guards. You then remove the stock ones and put on the larger ones. You have to drill some holes to do that. On the old ones. about 1/2 were bolts and 1/2 were rivets. Remove carefully so you
dont bust plastic. Then had to drill holes for the new ones and its all bolts. What took me the longest was carfully removing the old ones. and in order to drill all the holes needed. Had to remove the front and back storage racks. The new ones look nice and keep the mud off me. even with 27 inch mudbugs. I don't remember what I paid for the extended mud guards but I dont think it was too much. rangerchet
