Polaris called......

......the night before last to ask ne how I'm enjoying my Magnum. After informing me the my warranty was out last month, I could purchase the extended warranty even now. It will cover me for the next 4 1/2 years and cover everything except brake pads, for $636.00 . I can even make four equal payments out of that If I wish to. I didn't get it up front and am having a hard time making this decision. My bike mostly puts around the ranch hauling corn and pulling logs and brush around, as a matter of fact, we haven't even worn all the nubs off the tires yet. Will I be glad to have this warranty down the line a few years?

Not trying to make your decision, but as a general rule, extended warranties benefit the company more than the purchaser (remember, they set the price to cover their average cost plus profit markup). I would use this guidance in making your decision:
If you ride really hard and put more abuse than normal on the machine. Get the warranty.
If you ride normal and don't abuse it, the warranty is not worth it.
I have had my Magnum almost 4 years and I have yet to have any major trouble with it. Hope this helps.

I agree. For normal use, I wouldn't get it. I just had to make the same decision myself, and I bought it, but mine is a toy, and I don't pass up ANY mud or water.
Let's face it, the insurance company has the upper hand here. They KNOW how often they break,, and set the rates accordingly. Something to think about is, the rates just went up, so maybe they were losing ?
