I got this from the jayski.com websight. Though all you Polaris owners might like to read it.

Polaris all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) will be increasing its involvement in NASCAR next year by joining Bill Davis Racing as an associate sponsor of the #22 Caterpillar Pontiac driven by Ward Burton for the 2000 season. Polaris also will become a primary sponsor of Burton's BGN car. During the 2000 season, Polaris ATVs will be the primary sponsor for five BGN races. Ward Burton will be the newest member of "PRO Team" Polaris, an organization of top motorsports stars that represent Polaris products in the marketplace. Other "PRO Team" members include Richard Petty, Al Unser, Jr., and Rusty Wallace(Polaris PR)(11-19-1999)

I would love to see Polaris put the caterpillar logo on the new yellow Sportsman.
It could be like a caterpillar limited edition just like the Remington limited edition.

The sponsorship deal by Polaris is likely one of the reasons for the increase in sales in the last few years along with new models. Nascar sponsorships are one of the greatest marketing tools out there millions of viewers see these races every week and its not just Polaris getting into it. Kawaski got into the Nascar deal last year as did Suzuki, rumor has it that Yamaha is looking at the possiblity of major nascar involvement. These companys can't go wrong ,nascar fans have been proven time and again that they are loyal to their sponsors products just ask some of the sponsors who stopped using nascar for their advertising tool.

I entered this thread to complain about
Polaris wasting money on NASCAR involvement.
After reading Kagey's note it makes much
more sense to spend the money. If Polaris
has strong sales then they have more money
for R/D and product improvement.

Marketing is BS. Nascar advertising is fine, but I believe that performance speaks louder than hype. Polaris needs to look in the mirror and see what they have created. They are building machines with less, and less, and less performance every year.

I will not purchase another Polaris atv unless this changes. Yes, I'm loyal, right now, but Polaris has done nothing to help those of us who want superior performance.

They have been reliable and we have been satisfied with every one we have purchased, but . . . I "will not" purchase an atv based upon Winston Cup sponsorship. Totally BS, the thought is ludicrous.

Polaris is in a very precarious position right now. Sled sales suck are are going down, their sleds also suck on the race circuit as do their watercraft. Ski-Doo, Yamaha and AC are eating their lunch. Their 440 Edge was the biggest joke on the snow, do they not have an R&D dept that compares their product to the competition???? Apparently not, but all the others do. I think they really need to spend some dollars where it is noticed, in the product. Their atv sales of utility machines have held they up quite well, the meat of the atv market.

There are those that are gullible, but I don't believe I "ever" brought any product because it was advertisied on the side of a race car. Maybe there are some that are stupid enough to do so, but then they deserve what they get. Name recognition is one thing, but product performance lasts a lot longer in the minds of buyers, that never comes up in marketing meetings though. They still think that Bubba is alive and well and ready to write a check on Monday. Guess what, Bubba is dead.

The Marketing depts of some major Fortune 500 companies are in total disarray because of this right now. At the rate they are going Polaris will never get to #1. Polaris would not be my next atv, sled or watercraft purchase. Enough hype . . . show us what you've got . . . it ain't much.

Jack are you saying your glad that your not the president of Polaris Industries? I'm sure he is a multimillionaire. I'd be glad to take his place. Tell him that he's not doing a good job. You know the saying: opinions are like a**holes everybody has one. Have a good day.

Jack,
Didn't Polaris just win the PWC title 2 years in a row or something like that?
I agree with you on the quads though. A lightweight 2WD sport (2 or 4 stroke)is needed.
