i have looked at them all and fell in love with the Polaris line-up
my question is what is the differances between the SP500 and SP335 besides engine size? are there any? for the difference in monthly payment i would pobably go with the SP500 unless the 335 has something going for it that i don't know about.

Benelli pretty much said it all, although the 335 is a little sportier.

All of you Sportsman 335 owners, how does the 335 engine handle that big frame? Does it have enough power to get up steep hills?

I have a feeling that the 335 could pull a hill with no problem at all, but the 500 has more ground clearance, is faster, and the tires are bigger. I would rather just get the 500 if I was in the market for a Polaris but i'm not. The 500 frame and weight on a 335 engine just doesnt seem like it would handle that great. The tires would be one thing that really turns me off of the 335. There just too small. I would get the 500 but thats just me.

I have a 2000 335 and love it. I have gone up some pretty steep hills, down as well, and no problems. Ground clearance is 11" if nnot mistaken and that is more than most. A friend who you was a defensive linemane in the NFL and has been on quads his entire life loved it. He said when he rode it it had plenty of power to spare even with his 6'-6" 300 pounds on it. Either way you can't go wrong.

I have never been in a place where I wish I had more power in my 335 Sportsman. I can not compare it to a 500 Sportsman because I've never been on one.

BIGBADCAT the 335 tires are only an inch smaller than the 500 so I don't know why that would be a deciding factor on if you would buy one or not. I don't regret buying mine at all.

Hey Benelli, I'm sure you love your 335 and all, but BIGBADCAT is entitled to his own opinion on what kind of tires he prefers. Your ideas shouldn't matter on that. Like he said, "But thats just me." Around here you can get a 335 for about $5,600 if you look. A 500 will run around $6,200. Bigger tires are going to run around $300 to equal out if you opted for them, and the remaining $300 is chum change for the added power.

The ground clearance on the 335 will not be 11". if you hooked it up with some 25" tires, then it would be, but it loses close to an inch with the stockers, even more in the front.

The EBS will also take out that $300 difference, and then you have paid the same for less. The 335 is a good bike for those that don't want it all, but you can, if you want, have it all for about $600 more. Depending on your length of financing, its not a whole lot added onto a payment. The 335 is a good bike, but should be priced a bit less than it is to widen the gap from the 500. I'd put it at around $5300 or $5400. Then they might pull away in sales from those Big Bear or Rancher buyers.

When I was still in the market for a new quad a year ago, the 335 came out and I said "YES!". Then I saw the 23" tires up front and the price, and said "NO WAY!". It didn't help that they had it sitting right beside a 500.

Hey Benelli I never said that the tires would be a deciding factor on whether or not I bought one. There are numerous things that I don't like about it. The thing is your happy with it and thats all that counts. Right? I wouldnt by one anyhow regardless of tires. Like I said before I'm not in the market for a Polaris. The bike is also too overweight for its engine size. It has too be lacking in power somewhere. I don't have anything against the 335. I like the looks of it, but tires are not the deciding factor on the 335.
