Riding in the Snow
#1
I was out riding in the snow here in Northern Canada last weekend..First time with my Sport 400. What a blast! I have ridden snowmobiles many times and this is just as fun. There was about a foot of wet snow on the ground and HUGE mud puddles everywhere. We easily went through puddles upto 3 feet deep and never once did our belts slip. My buddie was on a Explorer 400. He thought he would be pulling me out of the mud but that never happened.
My Sport 400 has way more throttle snap and has plenty of power to get through all that mud and water. There were many times I thought "I have no idea how deep this 30 foot long puddle is...and I will surely get stuck!" All I can say is wow, Polaris is awsome in the worst conditions, no shifting and bogging out half way through a mud hole.
Get out there in the snow and have a blast. I did and was surprised at where you can get with a great quad and alot of horsepower.

We went out the other day in about 6 inches it was allot of fun. I love riding in snow with my Xplorer. and it being a Polaris I can take it out of AWD and slide like the rest and when i need it flick the switch and climb any snow covered hill.

Oh sure rub it in about the snow, why don't you hurt a guy, sitting here waiting on the snow!!!!COB
ALSO little tidbit, watch garage sales you can pick-up car chains, cheap cut them down and you will gain at least 6inches of snow you can plow through. You also need chain tighners to keep them in place.

Yea... All the roads used to freeze over here once a year, and it would sort of snow, but it would melt before it hit the ground. Anyway, when all the roads froze over the whole city shut down and no cars were out and roads were closed for that 1-2 days. All the people with ATV's were out riding.
The first year I got a 3-wheeler I couldn't wait for it to happen. It hasn't froze over since. I am still waiting... I bet my Scrambler would be fun on ice though!

I am still waiting to try my Max in the snow for the first time. With today's 60 degree weather it doesn't look good. I would expect snow at least by Christmas. I can't wait to get out on a frozen lake for some high speed spinning action.
I remember about 4 years ago we got three feet of snow. It was hard to even walk in. I needed a Max will super tracks and ice cleats!

I'm still waiting for some snow to try my Sportsman 335 in also. But it's North Carolina, so I'm not holding my breath.

about 6 inches of snow in Northern Minnesota... man is that fun. Lots of mud puddles and slop. You can spin in circles in the snow for hours. Mighty cold when you get wet though...
then the oil leak... see "help, oil leak" and help me out so I can ride some more this weekend....
