The basic differences between the 2001 and the 2000 are as follows:

1. The brake lines have a steel braiding on them.

2. The brake pads were upgraded to a better quality pad that will last longer.

3. The 2000 model had a crappy piece of junk plastic lower steering stem bushing. The 2001 models came with a sealed bearing type bushing.

4. I think the 2001 models have a slightly lower profile brake resevoir.

I am not sure if the factory sticker says the model year, but it should give a build date.

I think MagnumMudMan hit 'em all. The only other difference I can think of is the 01's have a 250 sticker just below the seat on each side and the 00's don't.

The air boxes are also different . As are the filters . They could have easily slipped in a scrambler box , I have no idea why they went to a new design .
