You know I would love to ride this thing more than I work on it, and I wish I had bought the extended warranty, becuase this thing is killin' me. But I sure do love it when it does work.

Ok now for my latest problem:

The cooling fan motor locked up and smoked out, so what does the motor cost? And can the motor be purchased alone or is it sold only as Asm.,Fan and Motor part# 2410123?

Next at what temp does the sensor on the motor for the hi temp light switch to ground, the bike was HOT and the light never came on. The bulb is OK (sensor lead to ground) and the sensor for the fan does work.
I know that deep water killed the fan so what can I do next time to extend the life of the SPAL fan motor?

Bubba,

The only way to help the fan is to check it before every ride. If it is locked up before you ride you can break it free and it will work again. Mine locks up every now and then and all I do is break it free and ride.

I do not know of a different fan that will work in place of the stock fan. It only comes as an assembly from the dealer.

The hot light comes on around 210 if I remember right. I will look in the manual and if it different I will post it.

Mine is air cooled and quit last week. It is not locked up so I do not think it will be functional by just breaking it loose. I ride in deep water so I guess it just wore out. How do you determine for sure if the motor is bad and what does one cost?
