Default Top Speeds???

Scrammy/trailblazer 400 is the fastest out of the bunch. I can beat an atc250r and a 400ex that is piped, jetted, and has a rev box. My riding buds hate getting beat by a polaris

Believe it or not, my trailtech has been very accurate. In most conditions, it reads about 62mph at top speed. This has been very consistent with reports from people that use GPS. Of course, the GPS is the most accurate speedometer. Pacing with a car isnt that accurate. There are just too many variables.

Believe what you want but it just cant happen. If you have seen them go that fast then good for you because you are the ONLY one on here that has. I go by what the people with GPS say. Because GPS is about the most accurate that you can get. Everybod else on here seems to get the same numbers that I gave for THEIR machines. I myself know for a fact that a 500 scram 4x4 will go no where near 68-609mph in stock or even piped form. My best friend has a 250 TB and there is no way that that thing is getting anywhere near 59 mph. That is just a fact. The 400 quads are only a few mph faster than a 500 scram in stock form but can go a lot fatser with mods.

Does any one ride on trails??
Who cares about the top speed.
It seem like every other post on the forums is about top speed on the road, and the decision about buying a quad comes down that one brand goes 74 mph verses 72 for the other brand.
I would like to see 40-70 mph on most trails.

All that matters is you have something to ride and have fun doing it.

my quads do 0-30 cause that's how fast I run it.. and 30 is the
outside speed which I hardly ever get to... really more like 0 -20 on
98 percent of the trails I ride..

this love affair for top speed and my quads faster than your quad
and actually buying a quad for top speed is imho ludicrous..

Now I can totally understand a quad with snappier performance off
the line, comfort, and ammenities that come on the quad or can be purchased
to make life easier.. but what I can't understand is what difference it
makes that my quad does 60 mph and yours does 65 mph...
I've never been over 30-35 mph on the trail and that was too
fast for conditions... I don't buy a quad to drag race on pavement.. I
buy one to ride to/from hunting camp or to take on trail rides...
It's even illegal in most states to ride them on public roads(a few exceptions).

I don't know about ya'll but Scrambler 500's are pretty fast. The dealer claims that they can hit right at 70. And from riding one almost every weekend, I really believe they can. I've only gotten up to that speed a couple times because on a 500-somethin pound ATV, you have no control over it at those speeds.

70mph on a Scrambler 4x4? No way! At least not in my machine anyway. With the mods on my quad the best I could get was kick A$$ acceleration! I can get about a quad length or two ahead of the pack off the line (and they ride Raptors, Predators, and 400ex), but in the end I'm the one eating dirt each and everytime! Of course, I have not used a radar gun or GPS to measure my top speed so I could be wrong. But that means if I'm going 70, everyone else is going 75-85mph! Hmmmm?
But in any event, unless you drag race and race up sand dunes all day, top speed is meaningless in trail riding where we ususally ride about 75 % of the time. Whatever my top speed is, it's pretty fast enough for my riding style. And whenever we climb rocks( or rather I should say "I climb rocks") or go through some deep mud...... I'm king! They'll never admit it of course, but in their hearts they bow down to the Polaris. Heh heh heh ; )

My brother's is a 2x4. And it isn't confirmed that it goes that fast. It sure does FEEL like it though. Hmm, that means that the Warrior I'm gettin will be able to keep up with the Scrambler in top end if the Scrammy only does in the low 60's.
