What pipe for '00 sramb
#2
If you do not want to change your clutching and you want alot of HP then go with the DynoPort, I put mine on 10 months ago and the power is unbelievable. They are the best pipe made on the market when it comes to not changing your clutch. Let me know what you decide. Good luck!

The PVT system is setup by Polaris to work with the factory pipe and any increase or decrease in power will result in less than max performance and premature belt life.
If the pipe is not too serious you might be able to get away with it but a more serious pipe will lead to all kinds of trouble. The increase in power and stock flyweights will cause the engine to operate higher than the pipe was designed for. You will need heavier flyweights to keep the engine in the meat of the powerband and perhaps a stiffer front spring to raise the engagement speed. Check with the pipes manufacturer for recommended clutch settings. These are actually very inexpensive items that are easy to install yourself. Companies like Aaen Performance, HPD and Ritter cycle racing all sell good pipes for the 400 and will recommend the proper clutch settings for optimal performance. Remember the PVT system is the middle man between the engine and rear wheels. I have a couple of articles in a few magazines that talk about this. I can send them to anyone who does not believe this. You can also talk to some experienced 400 owners like Jack Schultz and Jerry Goodman for their advice.
I currently have a tach and exhaust gas gauge on my scrambler to get some figures which i log on a spread sheet with other factors like air temp, current clutch settings, wheel size, tire brand, fuel brands, current estimated weight...ect. This way i know what makes the bike act like a raped ape.

Mohs,
If I were you or your buddy for the time being I would not switch to a different clutch it will make the pipe have less power. I talked to the guy at DynoPort many many times and he expalined everything to me, he is very nice I would give him a call and see what he thinks.
DynoPort (315) 253-9631
Thanks
