Did anyone else catch in DW a few months ago when they said "...and we still have an eye out for the widely rumored banshee killer"

When is polaris comming out with a full commin' after your grandma type racer? Polaris has the most lightest weight, fastest, best suspension snowmobiles around.

Polaris, where is the racer?

The last thing I saw was Polaris 600's & 700's were beating on the other big 3 in sleds and the 800 was only behind the artic cat 1000cc Thundercat in top speed.

Andrew, yes it is true that the high preformace twins polaris is putting out are fast. But Bob is right on AC having better handeling and now with the 151 that ski-dont came out with I think polaris riders may be surprised. Getting back to quads I just dont think polaris will sit back, they will come out with a new sprot quad. I think it will be nice but a banshee killer I am not sure, I think they are way to conservative when it comes to ATV's. Hopefully I am wrong if not I may have to become a traitor!!

It is true Polaris has started to wake up in reguards to snowmobile performance, after 5 yrs in the back seat. As far as atv's go , I think they would be smart to continue to build and refine their sport utility models. After all its what they do best(they invented the catagory), and if they would just iron out the reliability problems and poor build Quality, I might even buy one. One other thing, be careful believing what you read in magazines, I try to base my opinions on facts(my experience, or a friends)or unbiased reports such as race results.Andrew I only have one more thing to say----MXZ800---TWIN!!!!Thats right, you heard it here first! Later Bob. PS I have never seen a stock thunder kitty beat a Mach-z in a drag race, unless it was longer than a 1/4mile,and who drags for over a 1/4mile.

In 97 when my sled was new, racing in stock 600cc class the Polaris 600 ultra light was the fastest 600 at the drags. Now I know its not anymore

Mudman, Ever beat Disilva or Bickford? Didn't think so. Your from NY right,Then you must race P.R.O., so you no exactly what I'm talking about. 440-107hp where do you buy the nitro methane? 800-157hp Turbos aren't allowed in stock classes in P.R.O. By the way the 440 xcsp is a snow-x sled, and I can't even remember the last time a Polaris won a major snow-x race. There dominated by cat and Ski-Doo. I will give credit to Polaris on the 600 twin, as it does seem to have the most power in that class.
