I recently installed an EPI sport utility clutch kit. It came with new weights, helix and two primary springs(red and orange). After installing the kit, I raced a stock magnum 500 and got beat. I tried the red spring(to lower the rpms) and got beat. Took a shim out of the secondary and got beat. Top end is also less. About 52 mph. Im switching back to stock tires on monday to reduce unsprung weight.

What part do the weights play in the primary clutch?
Should I just run the stock spring?
What do the shims do in the secondary clutch?
Whats the difference between a steeper helix and the stock one?
Can someone please help me. Im tired of getting beat by a stock machine!
