photos: Installing new struts & HD springs on Sportsman 500
#1
I just installed new struts and Heavy Duty front springs on my '98 Sportsman 500.
It was easy, and I didn't need any special tools.
Check out the Documented Photos
I installed them on Friday and only rode it Sunday. Not a lot of whoops and such, but enough to tell that it made a BIG difference. The HD springs are Polaris p/n 7041450-067

Hey Tim,
Thanks for the pictorial on the HD Spring and Strut installation. I am about ready to do exactly the same thing on the exact same bike. I have ordered the struts from The Works Shocks and HD springs from Polaris. My suspension has been feeling really mushy for awhile now and I developed a clank when I hit a large rock with the left front tire. I am relieved to know that it is going to be easier than I had anticipated. My main concern was compressing the spring and now I see it's now a concern at all.
Thanks again
Arlan
