2001 brakes?

contact HPD for their aftermarket master cylinder with a smaller bore and you will be able to slid the wheels with 2 fingers. i have one on my 400 xplorer and my wifes TB because she was afraid to go down hill with the stock master cylinder because it was so hard to pull.

my xplorer has 3000+ miles and the only thing that failed was the rear axle bearings and i believe that they were bad from new. i still have the original brake pad but i have installed EBS on my xplorer because i do most of my riding in the mountains of PA.

The brakes on my 01 Sportman are great thanks to the changes P made. The changes as I know it are SS braded brake lines, the front brake disks are larger diameter with holes in them and I believe they have been hardened too.

You don't need to change your master cylinders. You will need one extra banjo bolt, and two ( one extra) banjo bolt sealing washers. I used my original 99 Sport distribution block, but order the newer one so you don't have to use adapters. The extra banjo bolt is for your foot cylinder. Due to the very minimal expansion of the lines, you will feel the difference in your braking. The HPD master cylinder is also a good idea. Daryl (HPD) is the best....along with Rick (RCR). Anyone found a larger rear brake disc other than FTR's (previous shipping problem) Good luck!!!
