fake rims on the scrambler x!!!!!!
#1
I went to the local polaris dealer today and saw the new scrambler x.If u look at the rim it says aluminum on it.I asked the owner," Is that an all aluminum wheel on that", he said, "It shure is ."I asked are you shure .He said," yes ."So i reached into my pocket pulled out a magnet and put it to the rim .A normal aluminum rim would not attract a magnet .But the magnet stuck right to it..So if you are going to by a scrambler x talk the daeler down a few hundred dollars .And if he asks why, simply put a magnet to the wheel and say cause that aint an aluminum rim.Talk to you guys later

Thats pretty funny. I was thinking the same thing the other day when I was at the Polaris Dealership. They had the X and a regular scrambler sitting next to each other. The rims looked the same except the x had a label that said "custom alumimnum rims". I thought they looked really cheesy compared to ITP or Douglas rims. Thanks for the insight.

As the parts manager at a Polaris shop they are aluminum, but they are not polished, they are gray. They are the same exact rims that come on the 400 2x4, except for the sticker. To make sure they are aluminum without getting close all you have to do is look for the half moon shapes in the rim. All Scrambler 4x4's have steel wheels that have triangular shapes in the rim. That's a quick way to tell the differance from a distance.

I pre-ordered my Scrambler X about a month and a half ago, I was under the assumption that it was going to have the polished aluminum wheels like all of the pictures have shown, so needless to say when it came in with painted grey aluminum wheels, with bold stickers that say "CUSTOM ALUMINUM WHEEL" I told my dealer "I want the polished wheels like polaris said it would have or I don't want the quad" So he took 200 bucks off the price tag for me. I am happy he did that I guess he didn't have to but, Its just a real pain to have to go buy the wheels and mount them up instead of getting the quad the way they had told me it would come. Other than the grey wheels, its a very nice looking quad, best I have seen from polaris.

Hey guys~
I just do not understand Polaris! My Scrambler(1996 model) has aluminum rims, floorboards, and front bumper. It has a weight of 495 pounds! Why on earth would Polaris put steel components on their "sport" machines!?? Polaris does have some great machines, but they really do not have a clue how to offer a true sport machine! Putting aluminum components and fancy graphics on a machine does not make it sporty! My 5 year old sister could build a better machine than those idiots! Hey~anybody know for sure if Polaris reps read this forum? I sure hope so!!!
