How should I service my 2000 SP335 with 100 hours?
#1
Hi Everyone,
My SP335 has been a great machine and it is coming up on 100 hours of use. What are some of the maintenance items I should be checking? Like, should I replace the belt, plugs, etc.
Thanks for your input!

Change oil and grease all the zerks.
Check the hub oil level, as well as the oil level in the H-L-R transmission, and the front differential. Look over all the CV joint boots for any rips or tears.
I would recommend the following:
Change the engine oil every 100 hours for easy use MAX.
I recommend every 50 hours if you ride a lot in hot, dusty conditions or work it hard. Give the zerks a shot of grease while you are doing this.
Change the hub oil every spring (takes so little time & oil and saves SO many hub problems)
Change the tranny oil & front diff. oil every spring. Can go 2 years of easy or infrequent use, maybe 2 times a year if you are a serious mud bogger.
As for the spark plug, get one to have on hand, but it should go a long, long time.
The belt should also go a long time if treated properly (you use low range when you should, don't you?) I have over 4000 miles on my original belt & over 300 hours. Again, it might be OK to have one in the garage, so you can swap it in case you find out your old one is going bad on Saturday afternoon, but it really doesn't have a time limit as how long it will last.
Keep in mind this is just my maintanence schedule, and I feel it is right for MY type of driving. Different people have different needs, and I probably do more maintanence than absolutely needed, but I have less than $20 in repairs in over 4000 miles of driving, too. The better you care for it the longer it will last, and the harder you run it, the more maintanence it will take to keep in shape.
