The heel clicker results are in!

i have EBS installed on my 96 400 xplorer and i have 3000 miles on it and a lot of my running is done in deep woods cutting new trails. i always use low range in these conditions and my clutch sheaves shows no wear. is your clutch cover sealing well, because dust and dirt could cause this wear. also i wonder if different belts could cause this problem.

Motorman,
my belt cover is sealed extremly well,it has to be for the simple reason that I Mud alot and am often in deep water,so a sliping belt is not someething I want or desire. In fact,I usually change the cover seal after removing the black cover everytime.

How about a web site for the Heel clickers... I am looking into clutching my sp500. I am looking at the HPD and the AAEN. is it better to mix and match?? I also want to put the HPD rollers in the back to get rid of that ebs

<< Puller,
...Im not so sure why the clutch sheeves are wearing like they are,but even on my Sportsman ,the wear was the same and the primary clutch had to be replaced...

Do you think that the added drag of the 26" tires and the higher (aggressive) engagement point of the green spring had anything to do with it?

Thor,
I beleive that the tires may have something to do with it,but im not convinced that the green spring does.Alls the green spring does is raise the engagement speed and it allows the belt to actually ride higher up in the primary clutch before it engages. And my wear is at the bottom of the primary sheeves.
I ordered the very best[and expensive] sprockets and chain from Sidewinder.I went with a 38 tooth rear sprocket [instead of the stock 36 tooth]to help out the low end and summize the added drag that the tires give.I hope that this is the answer, things are getting very expensive on this toy, hope it works,

Bill,
You lost me a little bit on that one. Wouldn't the belt engage in the same place on the sheaves only at a higher rpm? It seems that it would engage in the same place but move more rapidly up the sheave due to being more in the power band.
I sure hope that it all works out for you. It certainly seems to get to be expensive when a person pushes the envelope and does a little innovating/pioneer work.
You should have more acceleration going from the 2.77:1 gear ratio up to the 2.92:1. Good luck
