How hard are these to find,,,,mine either blew a crank or rod this weekend.

Also, will the 500 4 stroke drop into a 400 chassis. I thought these may be easier to locate,,,,,they are the same as a Sportsman motor right?

I think that you should buy an old streetbike and take the motor out of it and put it in the scrambler. That is a big chassis and you should be able to stuff a big motor in there. It would be much cheaper than buying a new motor for the bike.

 

I would put in a snowmobile engine. They are cheaper and much easier to find.

 

I have contacted Polaris about motors and they told me that some of their mtors are available. You just need to call your local dealer and he will tell you which ones are available. The ones from HPD were already modified for trail or racing. They are selling them for the nice price of $2,500.
