I would like to try and restore and get rid of some of the scratches on my plastic body on my xplor and heard that Finesse-it(TM) II works great, but where can I get it store wise or of the internet?

 

You should be able to pick it up at a local paint and body shop supplier.It is a 3M product.I'm a auto painter and thats were I get mine.You also can try bodysop mall.com but I'm not sure if anybody can use it or you might have to have a account.Hope this helps.

your not gonna beleive this but I use a propane torch, and it works great. just clean your machine and dry it off, then heat the plastic with a propane torch. Keep the torch moving so the plastic does not get too hot and you will begin to see the plastic shine again. once you get all the scuffs out hit it with wd40 and a soft cloth and it will look better than new.

 

Finesse-it is made buy 3m,,it is a detailers (including me) best friend.
It's a light compound that's used to take out small scratches (including wetsanding) small inperfections light oxidation and swirl (buffing) marks.
It is a very good product but rather on the expensive side,, really any (light) compound will do what you want to do ..you should be able to pick it up at any paint store that sell 3m product..
I'm not sure if this will help but i'm a detailer - body man by trade and when my bike gets to looking bad i'll take some light compound and a high speed buffer and buff the heck out of it (you have to know when to stop or you'll burn the plastic) it really helps and give it a good coat of wax..
The compound will also work on your alum. wheels and bumpers..

Like the others said, 3M products are available at autobody suppliers. Another couple of products we use in aviation are the 3 step Novus plastic polishes, and a sanding kit called Micro-Mesh...the later is quite labor intensive. Good luck!!
