personally i think the boss is all around better ..it is a better tower by a long shot and it supposed to be faster on top end(not for shure).they are both excellent on the trails and equally good in hunting..but i think the boss is a better buy ...but my thought doesnt count..just get what ever u want

I have buddies with each. Here is my honest opinion.
Reliability: Rule of thumb is, a four stroke is more reliable (T'Boss), although my buddy with the Blazer has never had a problem. Meanwhile, my buddy with the 'Boss got one with faulty oil line clamps, and he is on his third motor. This was a problem with the 2000 models, and technically shouldn't be held against the quad.
Speed: Although both fit into the "slug" category, the Blazer is easily, and fairly cheaply modified to move just out of the Slug category. It's actually quite fun to ride after a couple mods, but it will make the machine substantially louder, which will pretty much rule out hunting with it, if you choose to go for the mods. The Boss is just about the slowest quad out there. You can actually read a book while you are riding it, with no chance of being in danger. I remember my first ride on a TrailBoss. Zero satisfaction, pure disappointment.
Towing: Never towed with either, I would think the Boss, because it is a four stroke.
Sport riding: Non existant with the Boss.
The Blazer is roughly $500 cheaper. Ride both, sleep on it, then buy one, hoping you won't have buyer's regrets.

i still think you should go with the boss ..my friend and i both own one.and with just 2 mods you can make a boss run with a scrambler..(stage one kit and a 414 kit)..i dont think that is in the sluggish section..but any way..a boss can be ridden as a sport quad.i know because my friend and i both ride ares as sport quads and have yet to have a problem with them..also all 2000 model bosses had faulty oil lines ..the polaris dealers sent out letters to all 2000 boss owners telling them to bring them in so they could be fixed free of charge due to manufacture error..so agin i think the boss is a better all around bike..but you should choose what u like.. hope this helps

I own a 2001 T Boss while my brother has the Blazer. I would have no qualms about recomending the Boss to you if you are wanting something to hunt and tow with as well as have fun. In stock form the Blazer is barely faster (once both are broken in) in a drag. On the trails they are very comparable. The Boss has more low end grunt and is better by far on slow stuff and any hill climb where you don't have much room to get your speed up. The Blazer steers a little lighter and it is easier to wheelie on. My Boss has a superior ride than my brother's Blazer but part of that is the big cushy seat. Both machines are reliable and we haven't had to do much to either one ( the master link broke on my Boss and a fan switch had to be replaced both under warranty ). I have ridden it very hard for 8 months. It has been in water up to the front fenders, deep mud, snow, gravel sand and etc. A lot of people will tell you it is slow but unless you ride with sport machines you won't notice it. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Well, with just the FTR 250 Kit a TBlazer will run with a Sport/Scrambler. I rode their fully modded TBlazer and it was crazy, I was peeling out on the street.

to tell you the truth a stage one kit and a 414 kit on a boss will make it run with a scrambler..the stage 1 kit comes with your choice of pipe, air fliter, new jet, clutch kit, new spring, and then boring it to a 414 will make it even better...so it will most likely run with a scrambler..i am not trying to start an arugement but that is just what i think ...
