Fair enough you two.

You both express good point about polaris and their contributions to what ATV are today.

Scramdaddy, I USED to have on of those $6500.00 p.o.s. Scramblers you like so well. I hope yours holds up better than mine, but if yours is already past 6 months old then maybe you're in the clear or in for a big surprise. We'll see.

Lemons are numerous everywhere. Chevy, Ford, Mopar, Honda, Polaris, etc. Some folks will have problems and some will not. My 2001 Sportsman 500 HO runs like a champ and so does my brother's '98 Sportsman 500. He has gone through 1 set of brakes, whereas I have not. The EBS system on the new Polaris machines is a big improvement over years past models. Braking? Not much, except on the STEEPEST of hills. I suggest swapping the stock pads for the high performance ones.

Have you guys ever heard of AN EXTENDED WARRANTY?

aaagh..
theres so many people complaining, you need to maintain your machine, you need to be careful with it, you should expect some wear and tear.. because after all its a machine full of moving parts that depend on eachother to work correctly, even if you "mostly" take care of it there is still possibility that something can go wrong.. or you overlook something... if you hate polaris dont go bashing everything about them... get up, sell your "junk polaris" and buy something else! i've had my trailboss for more than 2years and nothing but minor wear and tear problems have gone wrong with it... and i ride it pretty hard.. but i also maintain it correctly..
baaaaaah.. stop complaininggg!!!

Some people need to learn how to use a grease gun.

Man that’s it. If I had used a grease gun then the Speedo, Fan motor, CV, Shifter shaft, Brakes (3 sets), sticking clutch, Tie rod ends, and bent float pin would all have never occurred. Dude that’s it. Grease it and it will run. Thanks.

I'd suggest buying a vat filled with grease and dipping your entire bike two times a day. That should lube it up. Better yet, run down to Wal-Mart and get a stencil set and spray-paint Honda on the tank. It may start fixing itself right away.

I've got an uncle who lives in Humble. His name is Robert "Bob" Powell. Seriously, I wondered why Polaris has grease zerks everywhere, unlike other makes. Do what I did and sell. You'll probably take a beating, but oh well. It's better than aspirin for the head-ache I was nursing. I've never known anyone to get their money out of a Polaris when purchased new. In fact, a lot of dealers around here won't even accept them in a trade. That makes one wonder.

Good luck.

When I bought my Polaris Scrambler 4x4 brand new in '95, they wouldn't give me an extended warranty. Go figure, they must have known something I didn't.

Scramdaddy, you're tiring me out with that maintenance horse-****. There's no way you can maintain stuff like headlight bulbs or oil injection or starters with a grease gun. I did grease mine, but I'm not gonna babysit the pos. Every other quad I've had went through the same rigors my Polaris did. The only difference is they lasted and the Scrambler didn't. You think if I grease that pull rope it'll go back in the hole?
