Ive gotta jump back in here...
Grease zerks are a good idea period. I have not had ONE SINGLE FAILURE from a part with a grease zerk, all those parts have performed flawlessly!

Slinger, the starter has a drain on it, (part of maintenence), bulb burn out big deal a $2 buck part, oil injection pump is mechanical how did it seize.

Your complaining about piddely problems that take 2 seconds to maintain.

If you put a thin coat on VASELINE on the pull cord rope it would of prevented the recoil spring from locking up.

The zerks allow you to flush out contaminates as well as inject fresh lubricant. A tube of grease is cheap compared to new bearings, bushings, etc.
The vast majority of aftermarket auto and truck suspension parts have zerks, where the OEM parts do not. Is there a reason for it ? Are we seing some logic here ???

Well Sramdaddy, you douche your Polaris while I ride my Kawasaki. Or my Suzuki or the Honda. Point is, you don't have to screw with them like you do a Poorlaris. You save the vasoline for later, buddy. You'll probably need it.

p.s. the bulbs didn't blow, they just popped out of their sockets and rolled around in the globe. That's craftsmanship ain't it?

Well, the Xped rolled this weekend and never quit for 6 hours at the river.
But the speedo went out again, that's OK because the 4WD still works.

Now that the bike is washed and PMCS is being completed, I find the outboard clamp on the NEW CV boot(new full shaft) is missing and the CV and boot are Full of mud and water. SORRY, NO GOOD %$#@*&^%^#$@!!
I'll fix it, but again a Quality Control issue.

I did have fun for one day.

Default Polaris Issues over $1000

I know to many this may be a rant. Up till now I have loved this bike but thought wow "this thing does require a deal of maintenance". That said this thing has been religiously well maintained. All fluids changed a minimum 5 times a year. For the record I drive a 2007 Sportsman 500 with ADC. So I am getting my waterpump mechanical seal the other day replaced since on the 2007 the resevoir for the coolant doesn't have a hose like the corrected 2008 version and the dirt takes out the seal and the mechanic says to me "I notice that you have some play in the front input shaft of the dif. You should tear into it and take a look since there is a cheap bushing on the early models of ADC that wear, crack, and then crack the internals of the case". Now this thing is running fine so I'm thinking well it cant be that bad but I like to tinker so I'll tear into it and take a peak. What do you know, the cheap bushing cracked, cracked the case, and took out a bearing in the process. The fix??? A BRAND NEW DIFFERENTIAL TO THE TUNE OF $1000+ So not only have a paid $11,000 for the bike now I'm paying another $1000+ on a 2000km 3 year old bike due to cheap manufacturing, to bad the price didn't reflect that. ***Warning to all those with 2007 Polaris Sportsman 500 with ADC*** It may run fine, but if there is play, take it apart ASAP or you will be in for a treat. In addition I rarely ever use the AWD feature since this thing has such awesome traction. I loved this bike to the death, but now this will be my last Polaris, I simply can't afford to keep buying these expensive and clearly cheap parts. Just my two cents, I agree they have pioneered ATV's, but their quality just plain sucks. My cousin has the exact same bike bought on exact same day and his has same problem. This is his second Polaris, his first one I can't remember what it was but it was a tank, this will be his last polaris too.

Sincerely, Ryan

Might I just add, I maintain my bike after every ride and this thing looks amazing, but still doesn't seem to be enough.
