The other day i was pulling a big squash trailer on my Trail Blazer. When all of a sudden it just sroped pulling and won't go foward but will go in reverse. Any oppenions on what happend. Any information on what it could be or how much it could cost to fix it. It is a 1998 Trail Blazer.

 

Did it stop pulling while you were still moving forward? Or did you stop and shift it out of forward, then when you went to shift back into forward, it didn't work?

It almosts sounds like either shift linkage ain't right, or internal tranny problems (the gears for forward and reverse, not the belt). But I have never heard of the gear section of the tranny going on a Polaris.

 

I agree with Sean. It is most likely a problem with the tranny gears and not the belt. If it were the belt, you wouldn't be able to move it at all.

 

You could have snapped the chain in the subtransmission. If I remember right, reverse is done with a gear, forward with a chain.

 

I was pulling the trailer that was way too heavy and it just quit pulling. Then I put it in neutral and tried going foward again but it would not . So I tried reverse and it would go. I was near the packing shed that i was pulling the trailer to. So i unhooked the trailer and took it back too the barn in reverse. Thanx for your info.
