The other day I was jumping my Sportsman 335 off some terraces and was getting two feet at times. But when I got home I looked around and found I had busted some bushings. Well, I replaced those;but when I swung the hub away from the quad after detaching the A-arms the shaft came out of the hub into the boot and I didn't know it until the bushings were replaced and I drove for a few miles. I heard some funky noises when turning so I took a look. Whoaaa! There was a shaft stickin' out of a torn boot and the right side of my quad was covered with grease and metal shavings. Anyways,I cleaned it up,got a 25 dollar boot that came with some stupid clamps. I put the one clamp inside the hub on the boot but I got a regular hose clamp that I could tighten and put it on the narrow end. Now I've put 47 miles on it and it's fine.(my two-three cents on the subject)

Metal shavings comming out of your CV joint? Sounds like excessive wear from no grease. You did adleast replace the lost grease inside the boot?
