I used to post here a lot as the owner of a 2000 Polaris Sportsman. Then I got into motorcycles sold the SP500 and I brought a Yamaha YZF1000.

So I was out riding last weekend on a nice little rural road when I came to discover almost every corner had gravel strewn on the pavement.

I soon found out why. A Yamaha Raptor with a rider in full color coordinated riding outfit on passed me going the other directions on the pavement, just flying and throwing gravel everywhere he went off the road in corners! I continued on down the road. I guess the guy on the Raptor decided to follow me. I couldn't hear him approach and he pulled up along side me in a wheely. We were doing about 50 KPH. GD Idiot laid down the front end about 2 feet from my front wheel. What an IDIOT! He could have killed us both. So I dropped 2 gears and tore outta there. I don't know exactly what he was trying to prove, except 'Look I am an idiot who never rides my machine anywhere it may get dirty, but I love to ride it where I get attention!'

Well he got lots of attention. On my way home that evening I saw 3 RCMP Cruisers prowling the area. One had two quads pulled over on the side of the road where a trail crosses the road... Good Job Raptor Rider!

This story is in no way condeming Raptor Riders or sport quad riders in general, just this one guy and people like him who practice the same sort of behavior on any quad - where it is inappropriate!

Sure do miss that SP500 though. I drool everytime I see a roadside mudhole! Couldn't give up the motorcycle though...
