The quietest silencer is the stocker, I've got a FMF Turbine Core II on it now and it's louder than stock but not harsh.
As for the HPD or HSP silencers, I don't have any experience.

I believe a stock silencer will fit an HPD pipe. You could call Darrell at HPD and ask him.

I have a 2000 scrambler 400 2x4 and I bought an HPD pipe and used the stock silencer and it was pretty quiet. The stock one will fit the HPD pipe. When I finally did put the new HPD silencer on I did notice a difference in performance.

I have a msa spark arrestor muffler on my 2000 xplorer 400. I am running a pipe for a 2000 scrambler so it should sound the same. It is rated at 94db. Almost sounds like a stock pipe but a different pitch. Really quiet and nice muffler. Hpd sells them for 129.95. The just hook right up with springs and are really tough.
