I need a drive chain for my 2000 xplor 400 4x4. With so many on the market, which one should I choose? Dennis Kirk has about 30 to choose from any suggestions?

I have not had to buy one yet (for my 1993 Trail Boss) but I used yo use SIDEWINDERS on my motocross bike. Did your chain break? If it stretched you can remove a link.

I have the most exspensive Titanium sprockets and chain that SideWinder carrys. They cost me 239 dollars and are SUPPOSE to out last stock ones 4-1.I have only had them on for 2 wks,so I cant give you a credable account on them as of yet.Type in Sidewindersprockets,it will take you directly to their site,

NO, the chain broke and went through my gearcase. It looks like I wont be riding for a while.I had a clicking sound in my chain that started about a week before it happened,my fault for not taking the time to inspect the chain. A lesson learned the hard way.

Hey fullthrottle, it is a good idea to replace your sprocket when you replace your chain.

yeah, i've had that happen to me too, the clicking sound first and then jerking motion when i accelerated... i brought it to my dealer to learn it was my front/rear sprockets and chain alll messed up... because i didnt know how to properly maintain it at first... luckily the chain didnt break on me...

fullthorottle, id say you could just buy a polaris stock chain, that way you could be sure it would accurately fit your quad...

To get the full serviceable life out of your new chain an sprokets they should be changed as a complete set. If you only change the chain and one sprocket the wear on the remaining sprocket first works on the chain then is transfered to the new sprocket. You can get a way with changing just the chain & 1 sprocket but it reduces the life of the new components.
