That Tb you are discribing is the one that HPD built last winter. It is fast I know the guy who ran it in a race. look at my Tb list an weight all I need to do is add a 400 in it an it will scream in matter of fact I have put one in for 2 races would have kept it there but then would be short motor for SC400 4X4.

I dunno what 600cc kit you are talking about. And any mods that anyone has done to a 400 2-Stroke aren't going to help you much. HPD doesn't offer much, and I really don't care for Hot Seat.

Aside from a plethera of bolt on accessories that will make your quad look fast and lighten it up a bit there aren't enough hards parts for a 500 to call it "full race." Or, at least what I consider race. HPD's frame is designed for the 400L, not a 500, and cost's nearly $12K w/o a motor!

I went threw my 400 a year ago to drop 100lbs and figured that it would cost approximately $10 per pound. And, I don't have a 4X4!

Your best bet is to start with a pipe/carb/clutch kit/wheels and tires. From there get into the motor and modify the suspension as needed along the way, IE front struts, possibly an extended swingarm.

You might want to spell check your sig (guards). I bet those red grips are cool too!

AZ400L,
How do you like the G-Force pipe/silencer? How does it compare to the HPD? Thanx.

Nope, that isn't the same one. The one that I'm talking about is built by G-Force(FTR) here in Utah. They have NOTHING HPD on the quad, all G-Force Racing stuff. I think that they are probably really close to each other speed wise though.

AZ400l,

He's talking about the 585cc kit Mickey Dunlap of Four Stroke Tech has out for the four strokes. They have one racing in the GNCC this year under the Utility Unlimited class.

Blazer 250, the pipe look sweeeet. I haven't run it yet, my motor is on it's way to HPD for some more work. I went to Glamis with a friend who ran one with a full race HPD motor and it ripped. So well in fact that's why I bought mine. Plus it is a pretty good looking pipe, although I will admit it was hell getting it to me!!!!!

My thoughts on the 500 are still the same, as with any bike, take it one step at a time. When making several performance mods simultaneously it's hard to know what your getting from each one. Down the road circumstances might dictate a new mod that washes the performance of another. After three carbs, three pipes, three porting jobs, and tons of clutching and re-clutching I know!!

Never say never guys. There is a turbo kit offered for the 500 Scrambler. Add this to a FST 600 kit and nitrous; you may have a winner!!! I want to say the turbo kit is offered by Aerodyne out of Texas, but can't remember. All it takes is cash!
