Different Carb/Big Bore Piston
#1
I have a 96 scrambler HPD pipe/silencer, K+N filter, HPD Aggressive Clutch kit, and Holeshot XCT's. I need a little more power for a convincing victory over a buddy. I would like input on : Carb boring, a 38 TMX, and a 39 PWK. I will be getting a trail port and head mods at the same time. I'm also considering a big bore piston, but I am concerned about the fact that it doesn't require resleeving. Any insights on the big bore piston regarding reliability would be appreciated.

Lars13,
I wouldn't waste my money on carb reboring. Get the 38mm Mikuni. The 39mm might not fit your 1996 Scrambler. It is for the newer concentric drive Scramblers. It seems there is just a touch more room between the motor and transmission on the 1998s and above.
Dirtface is right, instead of getting your head done, go with the cool head.
