I just bought a 2001 Scrambler 500 4x4 and need to change the break-in oil and our local dealer doesn't have any Polaris Synthetic in stock and doesn't know when they'll be getting it. Does anybody know which national brand is compatible. Thanks!

Are you kidding me, a Polaris dealer with no oil and they don't even know when they will be getting any??!! I mean it is not like they won't sell it! If I had to choose an oil to go with for now I would choose a 5w-30 in either of these synthetics, Mobil 1 or Amsoil. I would go with the Mobil 1 if you plan to go back to the Polaris brand. If you plan on running a different oil from now on I would probably have to go with Amsoil.

Thanks for the info. I plan to go back to Polaris oil as soon as I can get some. When available I'll probably buy extra in case this happens again. They really look kind unprofessional.

Mobil 1 10-40 in the summer and 0-30 in the winter should be just fine.
