Trail Boss King,

The new 2001s have the "Scrambler type" headlights (finally). If you still want an older model 2x4, they make a light kit for them. They are about $120.

Yes, the Scrambler 400 is a great SPORT machine as it is stock (notice, I didn't say HIGH PERFORMANCE). It has a lot more "hop-up" potential than any of the 500s. To see what mods are available, click on the link below my name. it'll take you to my web page. You'll see that there are quite a bit that can be done to these Sports / Scramblers.

Go for it, you will love it. I have '00 Scrambler 400 and absolutely love it. The only thing I have done is a K/N and modded the airbox. It really responded well to that, now as the money permits (wife the mods will really begin!!

i have a 95 scrambler,
you can see the mods it has from my sig.
not many, but good.....
i have to agree with the above,
INCREDABLE sport machine,
mine is the 4x4, so a full 2x4 should be even more sporty,
it jumps well, handles very well, flys like a motha...
it you ride with utilities you will kill them, if you get a 4x4 you can do anything they can do, and do it faster if you need to, it very fun

Anywhere from 60-66 MPH, depending on the conditions.

Mines already modded out. Why don't you fly to Ohio, buy mine, then ride it home?

I don't know if this is advisable or not but I bought a set of 55w lights from WalMart and put the on my front rack on my 2000 scrambler 400 2x4. I rode that way the whole time in KY last year with a bit of problems. I didn't leave them on while the engine was off, you can guess why. But I never had an issue with them or the battery. Like I said, it isn't a Polaris Item but worked for me.

I bought a 2000 Scrambler 400 4x4 about three months ago and love it, I bought a Stage 1 kit from RCR and it really woke it up. Other than keeping an eye on the spark plug, it hasn't given me any problems, and the four wheel drive keeps me going when the Banshees and 400EX's get stuck. LOL.

mine tops off between 69 mph and 74,
because of my few mods and 25 inch rear tires,
