foam tire inflation?
#1
Has anybody heard of inflating your tires with foam? a friend told me that I can take my tires down to firestone and they will put a foam substance into the tires so i wont get so many flats. Has anybody heard of this? how does it affect the handling?

We foam tires all of the time. Except they are mostly for skid loaders or bob cats. You can actually wear the rubber completely off the tire and still run on the foam. The only drawback to this is that this is dense foam (not like the stuff in a can) It is HEAVY and adds a lot of weight to a tire. If you have any other questions about tire foam just ask. We mostly use it on agricultural or construction equipment..

Rather than the foam, use a can of "Fix-A-Flat" or get some green stuff called "Slime".
After I hit a tree, neither of my front tires would stay aired. I "slimed" 'em, and they are fine now. Both of these products will fix small punctures and bead leaks as they occur, once they are in the tire.
