BushHog, I hope you've recovered from the offense taken by you from the manufacturers' practice of citing "nominal" displacement values (Rooster's examples prove most instructive), rounding off (usually, rounding up, except for the notable exceptions the reknown scholar, Boner, provides us (thanks, Boner!)) the figures in model designations.

Didn't the President say something about asking Congress for a "Truth In Displacement" law in his State of the Union address? Part of the "ATV Owners' Bill of Rights" initiative, I think. And appropriating 40 billion dollars to hire bureaucrats and enforcers? Especially for the Senior Citizens and poor, disadvantaged, working families who may have chosen alternative life-styles and may otherwise be categorized as minority members of society?

Your initial outrage reminds me of an ancient (Far Eastern) saying: "Pot often call kettle (the exact same exterior surface hue) on ATV Connection Forum."

Tree, I think I do remember the presidents mentioning the proposed "truth in displacement" law. Didn't our ever resourceful president propose punishing the "evil atv manufacturers" for duping the majority of atv riders into beliving their quads were larger than they really were? If I remember correctly he proposed forcing the atv manufacturers to give all "minority members of society" a free quad each and a $500.00 tax credit to show the atv manufacturers and the country that he was behind the majority 100%.

Though I hate to admit it I think Hondas Rancher is more powerful than Polaris's 335. Usually it's the other way around but not this time. Oh yeah, my 5.0 Mustang... is really 4.9 liters!

I was really interested in the Rancher because it was a 350, at least I thought it was close. But now that I've found it's only a 329cc, I'm not so interested. The 335 (334cc) is small enough.Oh well.

Yes, I know that everybody marks their machines a FEW cc's larger (or smaller). But I thought the Rancher was at least a 340cc or bigger.

Isn't the 454 one of the only bikes that is actually right on the dot? Or is it the only one?

BIGBADCAT,
I believe that the Xpedition 425 is actually 425cc.

Bigbadcat, here are some that have the displacement they claim.

Polaris Xpedition 425: 425cc
Polaris Diesel 455: 455cc
Polaris Xpedition and Magnum 325: 325cc
Polaris Trailboss 325: 325cc
E-ton TXL90: 90cc

Notice a pattern here?
