99 Scrambler 500 and winch
#1
If anyone out there could give me some ideas of mounting a WARN A2000 wich on the front of my quad, it would be greatly appreciated. Must be on the front as we do a lot of riding in the mountains and Once in a while it is necessary to winch yourself up the last 30 feet or so. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, and slight modifications are not a problem!!

I thought about putting a winch on my Scrambler...but the weight turns me off too much.If I was mounting it, I'd place it on the rear, not the front.
I carry a rope and ride with another Scrambler. If I ever get "too" stuck, I'll have to head home for my manual winch.
FOr now, I haven't ventured where I could not escape, EXCEPT THE SNOW THIS WEEKEND...WHERE a quick lift n push had me out.

I plan on getting a Sportsman 500in the future. It would be nice to have 2 of the best quads on the market.

Thanx, but I thought about putting it in the back, but when climbing the rockies like we do here, it is nice to be able to winch forward in case you can't quite make it to the top, and like you say, especially in the snow. the peaks can have quite a bit. Where do you usually ride at. we have quite a bit of muskeg around our parts, and then nice soupy gumbo that will suck you in like you've never seen. You should come out and try it sometime. Just out of Calgary Alberta.
