I recently put my scrambler 500 back to stock and was wondering if anyone can tell me how to line up my clutches. The problem is when I slow down and take off again there is a click in my clutch housing. I think it is the helix hitting the clutch buttons real hard. Last time I had this problem when I put my aftermarket clutch kit on I had to take it to the dealer. They told me the clutch had to be turned. I don't feel like paying to have it fixed and going through the hassle of loading up my quad and driving 45 minutes to the dealer to pay for something that I could fix if I knew how. Can anyone help me?

You need an alignment tool. Hotseat sells them, but if you know your dealer fairly well they may let you borrow their's. With the cover off, it takes about 5 seconds to see if they are aligned or not with the tool.

Exactly how do you preload the helix correctly? What do you turn 1/4 turn? I don't know what you mean by preload the helix.

You have to put the spring in, and barely slide the helix on, just where it's on the splines but not actualy down on the ramps. If it was sitting on the floor with the helix facing you, you would hold the bottom half and turn the top half couterclockwise 1/3 turn, then push the helix in all the way and put the snapring on.you can also use the marking on the sides of the halfs to get proper preload...help from a freind will make it easier but it can be done by yourself.good luck

Thanks trailbreaker and scramblerX. It took me all of 5 minutes to fix, and the dealer probably would have charged me an arm and a leg. Runs great. Thanks again.
