I have a 2001 Scambler 400 2x4 and I am looking for a good silencer that doesn't require rejetting. For some reason I have not had any luck finding more than a couple for the 2001. Does anyone know what would be a good choice? I am looking at the MSA Spark Arrester but I want to make sure there are no other choices I should be looking at.

Thanks for the help.

96 to 01 400 scramblers and sports all use the same silencer, No re-jetting will be needed with just a silencer, If you want a spark arrestor you can look at HPD, Hotseat, FMF or AAEN, If not check out DG & RCR also, I use the DG ovallite with my HPD and really like it so far but Ill probably upgrade to the FMF arrestor next year when the funds allow

If your looking for a good MSA silencer go with the FMF. However, a good pipe, such as an HPD trail or RCR, will require a slight jetting change.

Thanks for the replies. I've narrowed my selection down to a FMF Turbine Core II Spark arrester or a PSI Pro-Flow Silencer. I am leaning towards the FMF. Should I go with my instincts?

You might also want to consider DB's. I run the FMF on the new HPD race pipe even on a pipe it's not too bad. Nothing against PSI, but I had almost that exact silencer, and there isn't much to the noise reduction. HPD has some new, moderately quiet designs. I have a hand polished Hot Seat Billet silencer I would probably let go for $90 including shipping. This is the new design with the CNC Hot Seat logo milled on the end.
