I got my flywheel back from ritter cycle and had the ring gear removed and rick made it as light as he could.I dont have electric start I have to use the pullrope.when it is running at an idle it has a loud ticking noise coming from the recoil housing as far as i can tellso i put in a new spring and it still does it.Is it becuse it isnt ballanced? What if i put on the race motor mounts would that get rid of the vibration? what should i do?

Well this is just a thought did you remove the starter bendix and everything associated with the electric start since you cannot use it no more ?????

Just grasping at straws here

I'll have to agree with MilleniumScr500. If you have the bendix gears still in place from the old set-up, I'd say that's where the tick is. I like to have never found the source of that sound on my 500 , but that was it! That hollow recoil cover seems to amplify the sound, and makes it sound like a lifter tapping on an old ford!
