I have finally found the time/money to buy a new chain and set of sprockets for my 99 xplor 400. I really would like some feedback, and really be specefic on what brand like, what kind of chain from the brand, the price, and also if side-winder users would reply letting me know, was the chain worth the money, or will other brands hold same as sidewinder? I really hope to get alot of replys, since i live on advice

I just went and ordered the original oem parts for my 2000 xplor 400 4x4. I think that they held up well.

I got sick and tired of the stock chain/sprockets wearing on my 00 Xplorer [2 sets in 1500 miles].I went to SideWinder.com and ordered the very best titanium sprockets and chrome chain they had.It was exspensive [250 bucks] but they seem to be doing real well so far.[1800 miles]

I decided against the Sidewinder stuff. I only needed a new chain, and decided to go with a DID X-ring. My thoughts were regarding warranty, and mixed feelings about sidewinder.

I could defintely see myself running over a rock or stump, and bending up the sprocket before it could wear out.

MuddyXplor4x4,
Ask for the very best chain/sprocket combo that Sidewinder carries if you want the same thing I have.I have adjusted the chain 2 times in 300 miles and part of it was due to worn swingarm bushings.

I'd personally stay as FAR AWAY from a DYNO-PIT pipe as you can, they dont do what the owner Rich says they will and the fit is not to good either.Rich tried to rip me off.[owner of Dynopit]

Default A good chain and set of sprockets for a Explorer 400?

it uses 520 o-ring chain, DID in japan most likely makes everybodies chain with their brand name on it.
OEM is probably as good as anyone else's

get a pure polaris chain kit, tell your dealer you want it at cost too, see what he says
