I agree with Fasterthangas. I had my quad up to HPD a week ago for some fine tuning. Daryl sells a non-resistor plugwire boot, and we re-gapped my plug down to .018 for the 14.5:1 dome. Dialing the timing back 2degrees with his new pipe, and that was it. That's all he has, and it works great!!!!

by the way can you tell the exact number of the timing curve, from what i've heard it is 25 degree and you bring back to 23 right?!
thanks.

Original timing is 23.5, you bring it back to 21.5. That's roughly rotating your stator 1/16 inch clockwise. If you've had your flywheel lightened ( timing marks ground off) you can pick up a Mr. Gasket 7" (I think) degree wheel, part #1570. That along with a piston stop, you can follow the instructions on the wheel for finding TDC, marking it, and finding 21.5 and marking it. Don't use an automotive timing light, not too accurate, you need to use one for a 2-stroke.

good luck

By the way, timing is checked at 3000rpm with the engine cold. DO NOT LET IT WARM UP!!
