Anyone else experience this with the sportsman? It is hard to specifically identify the source of the problem but it is definately coming from the front end. When i push on the front rack, it squeaks loudly. When i am riding it is still very noticable.

Any ideas what might be causing the problem?

I might have an idea for you, not too long ago I had a rattle in the frontend and the it started to squeak and I couldn't find where it was coming from, well, I happened to lean on the front rack one day and it moved, and made that sqeak. So I tightened the screws that hold the rack down and tightened the headlights down for good measure and the problem was solved. Don't know if this helps but I tried.
Good luck finding it, I know it can get annoying

I had a squeek that ended up being slightly loose bolts that attach my optional front bumper. They are next to the radiator and are 1/2" hex head. If that is the problem it would be a good idea to back them out and apply a little grease.

tealboy,
I believe your first suspicions are correct. I have a SP 500 with the same noise and it is definitely coming from the struts. I have had mine through 3 1/2 to 4 feet of water as well as sand. The seals in any suspension will have a tendency to dry out and cause the squeaking that you are hearing. Check with your dealer to see what they would recommend for a lubricant to help moisten the seals up again. I have yet to make it out to my dealer, otherwise I would have had a more complete answer for you. Good Luck.

Two words: Grease Gun.

My Magnum squeaks if I let it go more than a month and a half without greasing it. Break out the grease gun, hunt down all the zerk fittings, load it up with grease and your squeaks should go away.

I have the same problem with my Scrambler. Its really no big deal tho to me. But I do spray some Polaris chain lube on the struts then push them up and down to work it in with the seal. I also think I pin pointed the rest. Its coming from the contact points of the springs at the botton of the strut as well as the top. I was recently in alot of mud and water and figure it must just be griddy in there. It sqeeks everytime the suspension is depresed. I sprayed some lube on the area, but it didn't work in too good. I can live with it.
