Odin,

Thanks for clarifying the issue, like most Honda's the rancher is a pushrod engine - I did know this. The difference is I didn't pay $7400 for it and it is hardly a big bore quad in competition with the new Griz or Kawi. Don't get bitter with me because your HO is probably in the shop being serviced as we speak, ha ha ha!!!

The thing I constantly see id people referring to the 700 as a big bore. Why? It's definatly not a big bore with two 341.5 cc cylinders. It's just a large engine. Just my .02.

I am taking the liberty of writing down all the names and e-mail addresses of all the critics here on this Polaris forum so I can remind you in 6 months or so how the Sportsman 700 is outselling everything in it's class. The grizzly which I believe to be the closest machine to compete with the sportsman 700 has too many weaknesses to overcome. Also keep in mind that your thoughts on this subject are a very small percentage of the real atv world.

Hay rancheres,
My sportsman has never been in the shop and I bought it new for much less than the Honda I also looked at at the same time.
If you are happy with your underachieving, over priced, slow, underpowered, uncomfortable garden tractor of a quad, thats great.
Seams a little funny though how you mentioned the Brand Loyalty as a bad thing, and you did it in a Polaris post while bragging about the honda.
You seam brand blind (LOYAL) and also a little pissed about your Honda purchase.
I can hardly blame you.
If I had bought that honda I would be pissed to.

Come on guys. Can't we wait till more than 1 person has tryed the quad.I'm not making excuse's cause it true that the 700 is a fat pig,but i have two freinds that have bought a Sportsman 500 each and 1 of the quads would take the other bye 3-4 quad lenths off the line .Even after he had it serviced it was not as quick.Just saying maybee we should wait a little before jumping to conclusions.

And to all this fighting about which quad is better, well each person has different tastes and different riding styles if if wasn't like that there would not be 7 different companys making and selling quads. One last thing,if you only come in the polaris forum to bash polaris quads then don't come. ok. If you like a 45 mph top speed then more power to you,i personally like cruising around at half trottle and doing 50mph.Even if it means greasing my quad once or twice amonth.

Oh yeah of course the dealer sold him the quad,it's not the dealer that is responsible it's the father.Someone might be eating stew preety soon. Too bad

800twin.........I'd like to hear the weeknesses of the Grizzly that you speak of. Is this from personal experience?? How many hours/miles have you put on a 660 Grizzly?? Please, I feel your expertise is invaluable.

As are yours.
