I started on a Hodaka 100 when I was about 12 or 13. Not sure whether I beat on that thing or if it beat on me! After High school I bought a used (abused) Honda Big Red. I was out of it for about 10 years till a bud of mine (OX) told me about his wheelin trip in Ontario, sounded way too cool. I bought a Yamaha Timberwolf so I could go along. It wasn't a bad machine except for the suspension(oh my achin' a$$). That's when I ended up on a Polaris Xpedition!!

Let's see........My father bought me a used 1980 ATC 70 for $100 when I was probably 8. He had to clean the gas tank out due to it being rusted pretty bad, but it ran great after that. Rode that for years, then got a used 1972 Honda 100 trail bike. Rode that for a couple years, and graduated high school with it. I bought a junked Honda 250 (I think) 4-stroke, and got it to run, but not ever for more than 300 yards. After graduation, I took my $500 graduation money and bought a 1986 Honda 200X ATV. That thing was a blast. Kept it for about a year, and sold it for $500. Took that money to the local dealership and put it down on a 1992 used Kawasaki Bayou 200. I had that bike for 3 years and sold it. BTW, I gave $2100 for it, and got $1950 for it. I then bought a 1989 Yamaha Moto 4 350 for $1700. Kept it 2 years and sold it(for $1800). Then, I bought a 1986 Honda 350X 3-wheeler. Nice and fast. Graduated college about 4 months later, and sold the 350X. Yamaha has just come out with the Grizzly 600, and I bought one. Kept it a year, and traded it in on a 1999 SP500. Kept the SP500 a year and sold it to a friend, and then bought a 2001 Xplorer 400. I've had it since August of 2000. About 2 weeks ago, I ran across a steal on a 1997 Honda 300EX, and gave $1600 for it. So now I have the Xplorer and the 300EX. Both are fun, and give me a little variety in what I want to ride. I plan on keeping both for a while, at least right now anyway. The bike I was most disappointed with was the Grizzly 600. Overheating, back brakes went quickly, front wheel bearings gone in less than 500 miles, electrical problems, paint flaking everywhere on frame, etc. Anyway, that's how I got started and where I'm at now.

My older brother and I got started on twin 1974 Honda Trail 90's. I was 12. He didn't really get hooked, but I did....from then it was a 1986 RM80(my dad soon sold this bike due to fear that I would kill myself!), after that it was a 1985 Kawasaki KD80 dirt bike(the first one I bought on my own) at age 15, then a 1988 XR200, then my first quad--a 1987 Kawasaki 300 Bayou(nothing but trouble), next was a 2000 Yamaha Warrior, sold it(why? I do not know). After that was a project quad, I bought a 350X 3-wheeler and a blown up 250X four wheeler and swapped motors, man that thing had some power! Sold it and bought my current quad, a 1998 400 Xplorer 4x4, my first 4x4. I like it, its lots of fun, but I still miss that Warrior sometimes!!

My parent didn't allow me to have any dirty bike toys while I lived at home (too dangerous plus dad was a cop and mom was a judge and riding them where everyone rode was illegal). I used to ride a buddys 88 blaster and that sort of started me off. I didn't get a dirty bike until 1993, I bought a 1991 Kawasaki KX250, I rode it for around 4 years and didn't like the way the power hit, I just didn't have enough ***** to keep it in the power band and I fouled plugs continuously. Then in 2000 I bought my scrambler and it has all been downhill and uphill since then.

BTW I am now currently 28 years old
