I am in the proccess of building a buggy and was thinking of using the transmission from an explorer or a scrambler so I can have reverse. I am using a fuel injected motorcycle engine that puts out about 80lb/ft of torque and 127HP at the rear wheel. I know a few of you have hooked these up to snowmobile engines and was curious as to how durable they have been for you.

The main problem will be the chain inside the transmission. It will most likely stretch and break eventually. HPD was working on a stronger tranny chain at one time, if I remember correctly.
