PSI?
#3
I never run stock tires on my ATVs.Stock ATV tires are only 2 ply and have very weak sidewalls that can break the bead very easily if you accidently hit the side of a tree stump ect, especially if you are running low PSI.
I have aftermarket 4 ply GoodYear Mudrunners on 00 Xplorer 400cc 4x4.They are much stronger than stock tires and I have NEVER had a flat tire.I run 5lbs front and rear. This may sound like alot of PSI,however, there is a few advantages to running a higher PSI.
1.More ground clearance
2.A stiffer tire will result in a stronger tire, thus making the sidewall more resistant to bead breakage.
Now it may ride a little stiffer with 5lbs instead of 2lbs,but the trade off is worth it to me,
