It's time to replace the P-O-S muffler on my 96 SP500. It was a bargain at the time...and I see why....TOO LOUD. I could notice the increased performance when I installed it, but I'm getting tired of re-packing the muffler and my riding buddies are starting to complain.
What pipe/muffler combo do you prefer? The one on it now is a DG (which someone posted after I bought it that said it stood for "Don't Get&quot.....can I re-use the header and replace the muffler with another type/brand/etc.?

Thanks,

The HSP 2001 HO Sportsman super/header is on the loud side as well. The 2000 and down HSP pipe is a different setup so I don't know about it. Good luck

dg does suck
i have the aluminum with the header and the fit was enough to loose my sale on another one
the head pipe on my dg will not work with a regular mufler style (wrong angle)
i have heard good things about aaen with the stock head pipe
