Well my Dealer & parts manager have proven what IDIOTS they are one more time.
I'v been chewing up belts like theres no tomorrow...6,7,8 with under 800 miles.I have a new one on there and it's gonna go anytime (I can tell buy the way it's running)the odd thing about it this time is,
it only has 5-6 miles on it.Usually it goes after 100-150 miles.Which is why I say thier Idiots actually it was the parts manger who said ..." A 100 miles is a lot of miles on a belt"....
I thought he was kidding .He wasent!!
YES I know how to use low
No the belt dident get wet

That really stinks. Might as well have them order you a case of belts. Seriously though, are the belts covered under polaris's lifetime belt policy? Do they have any ideas as to why they are wearing out?

It sounds like you might have a clutch alignment problem.

DUSE YOU DIDN'T MENTION WHAT KIND OF QUAD IT IS. BUT A FRIEND OF MINE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON HIS 500SP WITH THE EBS. A MECHANIC AT ANOTHER POLARIS SHOP EXPLAINED TOO US THAT IT WAS THE WAY WE WHERE RIDING IT.HE SAID GIVING IT TOO MUCH THROTTLE AND THEN LETTING OFF WAS CHEWING UP THE SIDES OF THE BELT AND AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME THE BELT WOULD COME APART. HE EXCHANGED THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY FOR A NON-EBS CLUTCH ($150.00) IT SEEMED TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT THE 500SP IS WITHOUT EBS

Buy or borrow a clutch alignment tool. It takes about 5 seconds to check after you have the cover off.

Weedy
I can feel it and hear it when I'm riding.it gets a vibration when it starts to go and makes a sound when thebelt starts to come apart.
Dont worry about the dust, thats normal.
Sounds like a nice ride,175 miles.

Kevin M
I'll look into the tool today

I know you hate the parts managers right now, lol. He doesn't sound like he could manage a trip to the s#!thouse.

Anyway you more than likely have have a clutch alignment problem. As many belts that you have been through you think he would get some kind of clue that mabye, just maybe, SOMETHING IS WRONG! Goodluck with your parts guy, however personally I would go elsewhere.

PS - If anyone out there knows me, please, if I do something that idiotic just reach across the counter and slap me!!
