Ritter Cycle Stage 1 Kit
#1
I have a 97 Polaris sport 400L. I am considering buy a Stage 1 Kit from ritter cycle. This kit includes Pipe, silencer, clutch kit, jetting, air filter, air box mod. I would be interested in hearing from anyone that has this kit or is familiar. The cost is $325 including shipping. Sounds like a good deal , but I keep thinking you get what you pay for. Thanks for your help. JPrentice

I am running the mid-range Stage1 and I'm very happy with it. I bought mine used from Quadfather. It perked that 400 right up. The silencer is a little on the loud side but I like it that way. Reminds me of the days I ran open headers on my '68 GTO. I've since had the 400 bored & ported and it runs like a scalded dog now. I can climb big hills in a hurry now.

I have the RCR kit on my 97 400 4x4 Scrambler. I too chose the mid-range pipe. I love it. Noticed a big difference in performance. I'm sure you'll be equally happy with it. You might want to give Rick Ritter a call. I think he also sells HPD and might help you decide what set up is best for your riding.

Usually you do get what you pay for. But the RCR stage 1 kit is different. You actually do get some quality performance for a cheap price. It has been proven and is quite popular, especially with Polaris riders.
I have the low end RCR kit on my Trail Blazer and love it. Ricks customer service is second to none as well. Give him a call and he will walk you through the steps to help you decide what kit is best for you.
P.S. Also, for a little extra cash, Rick can set you up with some HPD stuff as well.

Call Rick at RCR. Tell him what kind of power you want and what style riding you will be doing. He will set you up with the right stuff.
The only reason I did not use the RCR exhaust for my TBoss was a guy at the shop had one and I thought it was a tad too loud. I live around a bunch of old people and I don't want the police at my house every time I load it into my truck.
