No gas getting to engine

I have a 95 scrambler 400 , and it seems like its not getting gas to the engine, my carb is full of gas, but when i put gas into the cyinlder it fires , but then just cranks, im not sure whats wrong, i dont want to spend 75 dollars for the dealer to look at my carb,i clean the jets in my carb, i dont know waht is wrong, please help me ... thanks

Could be a number of things. Might be your needle or float is sticking. Remove the float bowl and see if the floats slide freely on the 2 slide rods. Mine had gunk accumulated on the slide rods that had to be cleaned off. The floats should move freely in both directions. If you're comfortable with removing the float assembly, take it out and clean the rods and check your needle also. Make sure not to bend the float tang ot you'll throw your float level off.
Check and make sure you don't have the carb vent line full of dirt or mud also.
Does it run at all when you manually put gas in there? If it's just firing a little you may have a top end problem and not a carb problem. You might want to do a compression check and rule that out.
